Afternoon Tea at The Arch London

Can you think of anything more quintessentially english than afternoon tea?  A wonderful treat, especially in such a gorgeous boutique hotel as The Arch.  Tucked away on Great Cumberland Place you will find a quiet haven away from the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street but just a 5 minute walk away.  This is one of my favourite areas of London.

Enjoy the most delicious tea!  Settle down in the comfortable Martini Library and sip a glass of Champagne.  This is a very nice way to spend an afternoon especially with the delightful staff at The Arch, you will be assured of a warm welcome.

I do not eat meat but this was not a problem, just make sure to tell the hotel about any dietary requests in advance.  We enjoyed a fantastic selection of sandwiches,  with meat options for Stephen, Crab Toast, Scones with Jam and Cream and a lovely selection of Macarons and cakes!  The cakes were so plentiful, we couldn’t eat them all!  Choose from an excellent tea menu to find your favourite blend of tea.

This is definitely our new favourite destination for afternoon tea in London.  The price is incredible £28 per person for Royal Afternoon Tea or £39 if you have a glass of Tattinger too.  I must admit, we were feeling very lazy after such an enormous tea, comfortably settled in the Library.  It would be very tempting to stay the night here, especially as it is dog friendly, Zarya and Freddie (my jetsetter Pomeranians) would definitely give this hotel the seal of approval too.

The Arch London is a luxurious Georgian townhouse in the heart of central London. The officially rated five star property is  amongst the top 20 Luxury hotels in the UK on TripAdvisor and has earned the 2017 Forbes Travel Guide Recommended Award.

A chic hotel interior, boasting marble and glass, and a specially curated collection of art, including a moving art installation illuminating the reception desk.  The corridors have also been permeated with character, and black and white ‘Alphatecture’ series of prints span the length of the gallery-inspired hall leading towards the Martini Library.

A member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World™ and Pride of Britain, the hotel boasts 82 bedrooms including eleven sumptuous suites spread over six floors. Floors are considerately numbered 1, 2, 3, and 5 as the number 4 is considered unlucky in Asian cultures. Spacious interconnecting rooms are on offer for families or larger groups.

The hotel is dog friendly with an ethos to treat pooches to the same indulgent experience as their owners, with luxurious dog beds, bowls, and delicious doggy menu cooked to order by a chef. Perfect for my pooches!

We will definitely return to this wonderful boutique hotel for the best afternoon tea in London!

It is always nice to try something new and Green Tea Scone were a first as were Ube Macarons.  Use is a local vegetable and the Macarons were a triumph.  We polished off the lot and there was barely a crumb left!

C Lounge:

A wonderful bar to meet for cocktails and enjoy the spectacular sea views from the stunning windows.  The Hotel is designed to look like a ship at sea and it certainly succeeded with this brief.  You will feel as if you are sitting on board a fabulous private yacht sipping a delicious cocktail.
