My fabulous trips for International travel, save money too! It is a great time of year to find a bargain. Make sure your get online and follow some of my tips.  I’m busy looking for some bargains myself right now!  This is still one of my most popular blogs, so have done a little update for Spring 2018.  Find bargains guys!

Booking A Trip:

– Have you ever noticed that the price of airfares seems to go up if you search several times for a flight online? This isn’t your imagination! The price goes up incrementally if you browse several times for a flight on the same website. My top tip is to look around websites for the flight  and erase your browser history before you book.

This applies to hotel booking websites as well so make sure to erase all of your browser history before booking.

– Join as many airline loyalty programs as possible. Those points and Airmiles really add up and you will soon be getting upgrades or upgrading with points accrued. I also think the airline treats you better apart from remembering all of the little things that make longhaul trips that little bit more comfortable such as meal and seat preference.

– Stay in new hotels/resorts. These are the places that want to fill up with guests and establish a good reputation and they are the ones that will upgrade you to a suite or give really good rates. Alternatively, get a hotel loyalty card and stay within the same hotel group, using the card each time and you will always be upgraded.

Apply for Airline Credit Cards with Free Airmails.  Often you have to spend a certain amount on the card to get the free airmails.  Only do this if you can afford to pay off the card, do not rack up debt. If you make sure you spend the minimum amount to get the free airmails but be careful to pay off the card each month, you will accrue enough for a trip before you know it!

This tip might be stating the obvious but DON’T travel in high season!  Go during the cheaper months.  November, for example is a great month to travel and has the bonus of being miserable weather in Europe at that time!

My favourite websites to help me find a bargain!

Kayak –

A great price comparison site.  This also gives you interesting options such as a flight stopover and al sorts of money saving options.

Sign up for emails for bargains, be creative on flight routes for long haul travel.  There are some amazing bargains from Eastern European countries right now!

Packing for A Trip:

I’m always being told “Travel light” to which I say “WHY!” Take everything you could possibly need for a comfortable trip and more.  I always have to buy things travelling light and so it can be a false economy. I take an empty case too, whenever possible, to fill with treasures I buy on the trip.

You will never suffer from jet lag if you follow my tips!

I have a blog dedicated to this subject now.  Type jet lag into the search column on the right side of the page.

– Travelling in Europe, you will need to get a pet passport.  This is really straightforward just go along to your vet, check all injections including rabies are up to date.  The only other requirement, other than a pet passport is a health check which must be undertaken by a vet between 24 hours and 5 days before travel.  Now you are ready to go!

– Air France, Iberia, Vueling and various other european airlines will allow dogs to travel in the cabin with you.  However, this only applies to small dogs and they must be in a pet carrier.

– It is a pleasure to take your dogs around Europe, especially France and Monaco – probably the most dog friendly countries in the world. Dogs are welcome in hotels and some restaurants and always on restaurant terraces. Some hotels do charge a fee for a dog to stay.

Bargain hunting tips for flying business class.

I am updating this article, be cause I am busy looking for great deals right now!  A lot of airlines  have sales on right now. There are some great flight and holiday bargains around, I am tempted by the British Airways sale for one.

Let’s get Bargain Hunting!

How do I travel First and Business Class around the world? Not by paying full ticket price, that is for sure!  I will share some of my tips for getting a good deal so you will never be squashed into a Tourist Class seat again!

Yes, I know it is expensive, even with a good deal, but it is worth it!  I would stay home rather than travelling in cattle class.  The thought of being squashed upright for 17 hours just fills me with horror!  It is getting worse too, back in the day many flights were half empty and you could grab 3 seats in a row for a good sleep.  NO MORE, in these days of small profit margins nearly every plane is full and a very unpleasant experience.

Meanwhile, up in Business and First Class a different world exists.  It really is a different world and you will never go back!

Loyalty Programs:

This tip goes for hotels as well as airlines.  Find a few airlines that you like and stick with them.  Join their loyalty schemes.  Build up those reward points.  There are so many ways to collect points apart from through flights.  For example, British Airways allows you to collect Avios by shopping online at your favourite stores.  simply follow the link on the British Airways website and you will collect Avios as you shop!  Although, I must admit this does encourage shopping to excess especially in Bicester Outlet Village.

It is no secret that I love the Middle Eastern airlines for their amazing planes, inflight service, Chauffeur service, food …. the list is endless.  Many of the Airlines partner with each other for Loyalty programs.  For example you can transfer your BA Avios to Qatar Airways Qmiles.  The options are endless.

Amaze yourself with how quickly you have enough points for an upgrade or a free ticket.  For an upgrade with points you can pay a tourist ticket price and use points to upgrade to Business Class! Perfect.

Book with new and up and coming Airlines:

A new airline, trying to establish itself in a crowded market place will always offer enticing deals in order to establish a clientele.  Oman Air is one such airline at the moment and has some really incredible deals.

Route Options:

Money can be saved, a lot of money sometimes! by being creative with your route.  Look at different options when searching.  Yes, it takes a little time but think of the savings running into hundreds of pounds.

Email Special Offers:

Once you are signed up to the loyalty program, you will start to receive special offers through to your inbox at regular intervals!

Top Tip:  Be Flexible

We travel at off peak times, partly because we hate crowds and also because this is when you will receive the best deals! Did you know that November is the cheapest month to take a holiday? This is just as true with hotels and villa rentals as with airlines.  I know it is probably stating the obvious, but you are much more likely to receive discounts at off peak times. Never try and find a bargain at Christmas for example unless you are incredibly lucky!

Hotels will upgrade you and give discounts at low peak times and flight discounts will be available.

Internet Search for Flight Discounts:

I know I have said this before but it is important so I will repeat. Most Internet search engines are owned by only 3 or 4 organisations.  You need to shop around!

Top Tip:  Search, find the flight you want and wipe your browser history before going back to book!  You want to wipe the cookie history because the flight prices go up every time you search.

Credit Card:

Use your credit card airmails and loyalty points for great savings on flights and sign up for Hotel Reward programmes, it all adds up!

My favourite internet sites

These are my current favourites.  A friend found a fabulous deal on here for me recently!  Now it is my first go to site for a great deal! is another favourite at the moment.  Good old fashioned bucket shops can sometimes turn up a good deal.  Try or

I use several websites to find the best deals, and go back to them time and again because they are so good.

Hope these tips help!  If you have any of your own, please tell me.
