What can I say about the food at Grecotel Corfu Imperial?  Sublime is the first word that comes to mind.  The best and freshest ingredients exquisitely cooked by Chef  Konstantinos Karapanagiotis and his team.  Delicious fish courses with Greek dishes. Read my luxury travel blog and my luxury travel blogger tips!

My five course lunch at YALI RESTAURANT was a wonderful surprise.  Dining and enjoying the views over the Ionian Sea, sipping a delicious Greek white wine and savouring these mouth watering dishes.  Who could ask for more?

Tzatziki and Fava dips, Greek Salad, Seafood Salad followed by Greek Summer Meze.  The Meze of Grilled Haloumi Cheese, Farmhouse Fried Potatoes and Baked Aubergine with Feta and Gruyere Cheese was a meal in itself!

Salt crusted Sea Bass Fillet and Chicken Souvlaki followed.  The dessert of Homemade Orange pie and Ice Cream was too delicious to resist.

As I write this review, I am trying to remember when I last had such great meals as these at Grecotel Corfu Imperial.  Bear in mind that I toured through France and Northern Italy just before my Corfu trip….. this was the best in my opinion.  Great ingredients cooked in a light modern, healthy style, this is the best kind of food, especially enjoyed in the setting of Grecotel Corfu Imperial with such amazing views.

Appropriately named after Aristotle Onassis whose private island Scorpios is nearby, Aristos has elegant decor, outstanding service and a newly designed menu.  The Michelin starred chef Thanos Feskos created the superb menu for 2018.  This is a more formal setting than the other restaurants at Grecotel Corfu Imperial and gives guests a choice of different dining experiences during their stay at the hotel.

A typical Michelin Restaurant menu (I see Cod on absolutely every Michelin menu in France at the moment) beautifully presented and with delicious flavours.  The service was absolutely first class as it is in all the Grecotel Restaurants.

There are 8 different restaurants , guests have so many styles of cuisine and decor to choose, all looking out over the Ionian Sea with breath taking views in every direction.

PHOTO: Kumquat Restaurant

My favourite meal!  If a chef asked me to create my own Menu, it would be the one I enjoyed here at Kumquat.  All of my favourite dishes, beautifully cooked and presented.  Culinary heaven starting with a variety of sushi: California Roll, Tempura Shrimp Roll, Salmon Teriyaki Roll, Nigiri Salmon.

A dizzying array of dishes followed, I’m not sure how I ate it all but gave it a jolly good go!  Tempura Shrimps (sublime) with vegetables.  Then ..Crab Rangoon, a particular favourite.

PHOTO:  Kumquat Restaurant

Sea Bass Ceviche, Bao Buns with Pickled and fresh vegetables and Soya Sauce, Oriental style Noodles with Shrimp and vegetables were among the appetisers.  Then, my favourite, Coco Lobsters with Coconut Milk, Spicy Curry and Ginger were the main course.  I’m feeling hungry just telling you about it!

Kumquat Dessert and Strawberries rounded off this perfect meal.  There is a Tender dock for my friends with Yachts if you want to stop by and enjoy this superb restaurant.

You have three Grecotel resorts on this Peninsula and the hotel Pontoon will transport you around free of charge.  Go explore and dine at the restaurants too!  I enjoyed lunch at Tavernaki Restaurant following and exciting watersport session.

A classic Greek Taverna with superb food.  I loved the happy atmosphere and colourful vibe at Tavernaki as well as the delicious meal.  Daphnia Bay Dassia is an all inclusive resort and so guests can eat as much as they like in any restaurant with food and wine included.

PHOTO: Tavernaki Restaurant

My meal started with Tzatziki, Aubergine Pate (wish I had the recipe for this dish!) and Taramas. Followed by Marinated fresh Anchovies, Fried Kalahari and Shrimps in Tomato Sauce.  Main course was Sea Bream and dessert Ravani with Ice Cream.  It was a triumph of flavours enjoyed on the pretty terrace looking out to sea.

A superb wine tasting followed with the knowledgeable in house Sommelier, so good to learn more about some excellent Greek wines.

PHOTO: Sunset at Grecotel Eva Palace

Watching the sun go down with a delicious cocktail is a special memory of Grecotel Eva Palace.  A superb dinner on the terrace followed at Steak and Sushi Restaurant.  The  views at all the Grecotel Resorts in Corfu will take your breath away!

PHOTO: Dinner at Steak and Sushi

Seriously good Sushi to start followed by a fish dish for me and steak for everyone else.  The Steaks looked exceptional.  A convivial atmosphere, delicious Greek wine and superb meal under the stars.  What a memorable treat!

A wonderful band played in the background near the swimming pool and this was such a special evening.

3 Favourite things to do in Corfu

I flew to Corfu with Aegean Airlines.  Check out their website and find a great deal on flights for your trip to Greece!

My stay at Grecotel Corfu Imperial:

Are you thinking about booking a holiday to Corfu? Well…. think no longer and book right now.  Corfu is such a magical Ionian Greek Island that is unspoilt and unchanged.  The perfect island for  chill out relaxation or a family holiday. Read my Grecotel Corfu Imperial review.

I highly recommend a stay at one of the Grecotel resorts.  My stay at Grecotel Corfu Imperial was sublime and perfect in every way, from stepping off the plane and being whisked away in the resort Mercedes Limousine, I enjoyed it all!  Grecotel Corfu Imperial enjoys a magnificent setting on its own private Peninsula.

Dream Villa Waterfront with Private Pool:

Whatever type of accommodation you choose, from a Deluxe Room to Royal Villa, Grecotel Corfu Imperial staff will look after you so well.  I stayed in a Dream Villa Waterfront with Private Pool.  A Villa choice is ideal when you want your own private villa with all the amenities of a top hotel.

PHOTO: Dream Villa Welcome Gifts

The best ever welcome gifts!  Feel instantly at home with nothing to do but relax and unwind and recover from your journey.  Enjoy the views over the Ionian Sea towards Old Corfu Town and harbour.  The yachts bobbing around will keep you entertained.

My Dream Villa Waterfront with Pool, pictured below.  A bedroom with super comfy bed leading onto a patio area looking over the sea.  My favourite thing was a Private Pool with steps leading down to a deck over the sea, perfect for a swim.

As my regular readers know, I stay in a lot of hotels.  There is usually something that is missing, but not this time!  Large living room with Coffee Machine, complimentary wine and soft drinks…. even my own wine fridge. The corkscrew was a bit of an intelligence test, which needless to say, I failed.  Room Service came to the rescue luckily!

My particular bugbear is lack of coat hangers, but there were so many even a Diva couldn’t use all of them.  Big spacious wardrobes too.  Lots of lovely products in the luxurious bathroom and walk in Rain shower.

A Private Pool is such a luxurious treat!  This is probably my number one favourite luxury, well worth splurging if your budget allows.

Enjoy the peace and quiet of your own space.  Meals at Grecotel Corfu Imperial were a very special treat!  Every Meal was superb, starting with breakfast every day at Mon Repos Restaurant.  A cool, super chic minimalist restaurant which is enormous with pretty terraces too, for outside eating.

PHOTO: Breakfast at Mon Repos Restaurant

A superb array of breakfast dishes awaits, including my favourite Omelette, made by superb Omelette chef pictured above.  Endless supply of the freshest fruit and juices too!

Room Service breakfast:

If you simply cannot tear yourself away from your room or Villa, have breakfast on your own terrace.  Just tumble out of bed and look at the view.  Dream Villa was just peaceful and perfect.

PHOTO: Elixir Beauty Spa at Grecotel Corfu Imperial

How do you like to relax and unwind? A massage and Spa treatment always does the trick!  The new two story Elixir Beauty Spa is a luxurious treat, with every type of massage or beauty Treatment.  My Body Scrub and relaxing massage was superb and I felt so good afterwards.

The Spa is beautiful, calming and very chic.  Enjoy the new fitness centre too with state of the art equipment and spectacular views. Prices are quite reasonable with a 30 minute Relax massage for 50 euros and 50 minute at 70 euros.

Swimming every day in the crystal clear Ionian sea was just so special.  Dipping in my own fresh water pool was definitely a highlight of this trip!

However, if you don’t indulge in such a luxury, the hotel pools are superb.  New this year, they are large and modern and very spectacular.

How about a private Cabana, looking over the view and yachts at sea?  Complimentary fresh fruits and iced water make it extra special.  All the staff at the hotel are so kind, friendly and professional.

PHOTO: Water Sports at Grecotel Corfu Imperial

Watersport anyone? Yes please! I don’t know about you, but I would spend all day on the water.  An array of fun Sports from Parasailing, Waterskiing,  Kayaking, Paddle Boarding, Banana boats and Jetskiing.  Don’t forget to pack your snorkel too, there are a lot of fish to see.  I would never be bored!

I loved luxuriating aboard the hotel Pontoon. A fabulous way to explore the island.  You can hop aboard to visit the sister hotels free of charge, which is great.  A visit aboard to take you to Corfu Old Town is unmissable.  Follow my Corfu trips on a separate blog.

Hire the Pontoon to take you around the island for a day, the best way to explore and very luxurious too.

After dinner relax in the beautiful Italianate gardens and listen to some wonderful live music.  Something different every night and a perfect way to end the evening sipping a glass of Champagne. Grecotel Corfu Imperial review.
