By Robert Palmer

Ovation of the Seas is one of the world’s largest cruise ships. It was launched in 2016, and has since become one of the most popular cruise ships in the world. The ship is owned by Royal Caribbean International and was built at Meyer Werft Shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.

The ship is over 1,140 feet long and can accommodate up to 4,905 passengers and 1,500 crew members. It has 18 decks, 16 guest elevators and a variety of restaurants, bars, entertainment venues, shops and other amenities.

Ovation of the Seas features a skydiving experience called RipCord by iFLY®, a FlowRider® surf simulator and a North Star® observation capsule that can take guests more than 300 feet above sea level for breathtaking views. The ship also features two rock-climbing walls, a Seaplex indoor activity center with bumper cars and roller skating, two pools and hot tubs.

Ovation of the Seas also offers its guests a wealth of dining options. These include Wonderland Imaginative Cuisine which serves unique dishes inspired by childhood stories; Jamie’s Italian by celebrity chef Jamie Oliver; Chops Grille steakhouse; Izumi Japanese Cuisine; American Icon Grill; Windjammer Marketplace buffet; Solarium Bistro buffet; Cafe@Two70 coffee bar; Starbucks® café; Sorrento’s Pizzeria; Vintages wine bar; Silk dining room for traditional multi-course meals as well as coastal cuisine from Coastal Kitchen restaurant.

Is Ovation of the Seas the Largest Cruise Ship?

No, Ovation of the Seas is not the largest cruise ship in operation today. There are several other larger ships such as Symphony of the Seas (1,188 feet long) belonging to Royal Caribbean International as well as MSC Meraviglia (1,082 feet long) owned by MSC Cruises which are currently in operation.

Conclusion:

Ovation of the Seas is certainly one of the largest cruise ships in operation today but it is not the largest one out there. There are several other larger vessels that have been built recently which offer their passengers an even more luxurious experience.
