Who Is the Culture Tourism and Development Minister of India?

India is a land of rich cultural heritage and diversity. The country is known for its vibrant traditions, colorful festivals, and historic landmarks that attract tourists from all over the world. To ensure the development and promotion of India’s cultural tourism, the government has appointed a Culture Tourism and Development Minister.

The current Culture Tourism and Development Minister of India is Prahlad Singh Patel. He is a Member of Parliament from Damoh in Madhya Pradesh and was appointed as the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Culture and Tourism on May 31, 2019.

Early Life and Career:

Prahlad Singh Patel was born on June 28, 1960, in Narsinghpur district in Madhya Pradesh. He completed his graduation from Government Post Graduate College in Damoh. Before entering politics, he worked as a journalist with various newspapers and magazines.

In 1990, Patel joined politics and became a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He has held several positions within the party including National Vice-President of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), National Secretary BJP, President BJP Madhya Pradesh, among others.

Role as Culture Tourism and Development Minister:

As the Culture Tourism and Development Minister of India, Prahlad Singh Patel is responsible for promoting India’s rich cultural heritage to both domestic and international tourists. He oversees various initiatives to develop tourism infrastructure across the country including the renovation of historical monuments, development of tourist circuits, promotion of rural tourism, among others.

Under his leadership, the Ministry has launched several new initiatives such as Swadesh Darshan Scheme, National Mission on Pilgrimage Rejuvenation And Spiritual Augmentation Drive (PRASAD), Adopt A Heritage Scheme among others to promote tourism in India.
