If you’re a fan of theatre and musicals, you’ve probably heard of Kinky Boots. The Tony Award-winning production has been a hit since it first premiered on Broadway in 2013, and it’s been entertaining audiences all over the world ever since. But if you’re wondering whether Kinky Boots is still on in London, the answer is no.

Kinky Boots had a successful run in London’s West End for several years, but the show closed its doors for the final time on January 12th, 2019. The production had been playing at the Adelphi Theatre for over three years, captivating audiences with its catchy music, witty humor, and heartwarming story.

The musical tells the story of Charlie Price, who inherits his father’s failing shoe factory and teams up with drag queen Lola to create a line of high-heeled boots for men. Together they overcome prejudice and find acceptance while learning to embrace their own individuality.

Kinky Boots was created by Harvey Fierstein (book) and Cyndi Lauper (music and lyrics) and has become beloved by audiences around the world. In addition to its success on Broadway and in London’s West End, Kinky Boots has also toured extensively throughout North America and played in cities like Toronto, Melbourne, Tokyo, Hamburg, and São Paulo.

While Kinky Boots may no longer be playing in London’s West End at this time, there are still plenty of other amazing shows to see in the city. From classic productions like Les Misérables to newer hits like Hamilton and Waitress, there’s something for everyone when it comes to theatre in London.

So even though Kinky Boots may have finished its run in London’s West End for now, fans can still enjoy the incredible music and heartwarming story by listening to the original cast recording or catching a production elsewhere around the globe. And who knows? Maybe someday soon, Kinky Boots will make a triumphant return to the London stage.
