Where Is the Harry Potter House in London?

By Alice Nichols

If you are a Harry Potter fan, visiting London is a must-do. The city has a plethora of locations that were featured in the Harry Potter movies, including the famous Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. But did you know that you can also visit the house where Harry Potter lived with his dreadful relatives, the Dursleys?

The house that was used as 4 Privet Drive in the Harry Potter movies is located in Picket Post Close, Bracknell. It’s about an hour’s drive from central London, but it’s definitely worth the trip if you’re a die-hard fan.

The house is a private residence, so you can’t go inside or even take a peek through the windows. However, you can take pictures outside and marvel at how perfectly it looks like it did in the movies.

If you’re planning on visiting the house, there are a few things to keep in mind. Firstly, since it is a private residence, please be respectful of the residents’ privacy. Don’t trespass on their property or disturb them in any way.

Secondly, if you’re taking public transport to get there, keep in mind that there aren’t any train stations nearby. The closest station is Martins Heron, which is about 3 miles away from Picket Post Close. From there, you can take a taxi or walk to the house.

Lastly, if you want to make your visit extra special and see more Harry Potter locations around London at your own pace then consider taking one of several tours available online which will guide through all these locations.

In conclusion, while visiting London as a Harry Potter fan make sure to check out 4 Privet Drive (the Dursley’s House) located at Picket Post Close in Bracknell. While it may be a bit of effort to get there its worth seeing this iconic location up close!
