The mystery of the woman who jumped off of the cruise ship has been a popular topic amongst news outlets. On April 12th, 2020 a woman was reported to have jumped overboard from a cruise ship in the Mediterranean Sea. This was while it was en route from Barcelona to Genoa, Italy.

The Italian coast guard had released information that they had searched for days, but unfortunately they could not find the woman or her body. Although, they did find some personal items belonging to her that were floating in the water.

The identity of the woman had not been released, however there were speculations that she may have been an American passenger who had boarded the cruise ship in Barcelona. It is believed that she had suffered from depression and anxiety before boarding and during the trip, thus prompting her to jump off of the ship.

The Italian Coast Guard stated that they would continue their search for as long as possible, but at some point they would have to end their efforts due to logistical reasons and lack of resources. Many people expressed their condolences and worries over this incident on social media platforms such as Twitter and Instagram.

Meanwhile, many people are still questioning if the lady was ever found or not? Unfortunately, after months of searching by both private companies as well as law enforcement agencies it seems unlikely that anyone will ever know what happened to this woman who jumped off of a cruise ship in 2020 unless new evidence is found.
