Does Kenya Have a Cruise Ship?

By Anna Duncan

Kenya is known for its incredible wildlife and natural beauty. The country is located in Eastern Africa and borders the Indian Ocean.

With such a stunning backdrop, it’s no surprise that many visitors flock to Kenya to explore its wonders. But does Kenya have a cruise ship?

The short answer is no. Kenya does not currently have any cruise ships operating within its waters.

This is due to the fact that the country’s infrastructure and port facilities are not yet equipped to handle larger vessels. In addition, there are safety concerns in some areas that make it difficult for cruise ships to navigate the waters of Kenya.

That being said, there are still plenty of opportunities for visitors to experience the beauty of Kenya by sea. Visitors can take advantage of boat tours around Mombasa or Lamu Island, which offer views of dolphins and whales in the Indian Ocean. There are also several ferry services operating between Lamu and Mombasa, allowing visitors to explore both destinations.

In addition, there are several private yacht charters available in Kenya which offer more flexibility and luxury than ferry services. These charters can be tailored to individual needs and provide an intimate way to explore the coastlines of Kenya.

For those looking for a more luxurious experience, there are luxury resorts located on the Kenyan coast that offer cruises along with their other amenities. While these cruises may not be as extensive as those found on larger vessels, they do provide an opportunity for visitors to enjoy some time away from land while still taking in all that Kenya has to offer.

Conclusion:

So while Kenya does not currently have any cruise ships operating within its waters, there are still plenty of ways for visitors to explore its stunning coastline by sea – from boat tours around Mombasa or Lamu Island, ferry services between Lamu and Mombasa, private yacht charters or luxury resort cruises.
