Which Disney Cruise Ship Is the Best for Kids?

By Alice Nichols

Disney Cruise Line offers families a magical and unforgettable experience aboard their cruise ships. With four different ships to choose from, it can be difficult to decide which one is best for kids. Each ship has its own unique features, from a larger variety of activities to special amenities specifically designed with kids in mind.

Disney Dream

The Disney Dream is the newest and largest Disney Cruise Line ship. It has plenty of activities for kids of all ages, including the AquaDuck water coaster and a variety of live performances.

Kids can also enjoy Character Breakfasts with their favorite Disney characters, as well as supervised play areas and interactive shows. The Disney Dream also offers special amenities for teens such as the Edge club and Vibe lounge.

Disney Fantasy

The Disney Fantasy is the sister ship to the Disney Dream. This ship has the same amenities and activities as the Dream, but with a few added features such as a full-service spa and adults-only areas.

Kids will love exploring the Oceaneer Club or taking part in an interactive show at Animator’s Palate. The Fantasy also boasts an adults-only restaurant perfect for date nights.

Disney Wonder

The Disney Wonder is slightly smaller than its sister ships but still offers plenty of fun for kids of all ages. Kids will love exploring the nursery play area or taking part in activities like face painting and arts & crafts.

The Wonder also has a 4D movie theater where kids can watch their favorite movies in 3D with moving seats! There are also adults-only areas on board so parents can have some time away from the kiddos.

Disney Magic

The smallest of all four ships, but no less magical! The Disney Magic offers family-friendly fun with its aqua lab, deck parties, and character breakfasts. Kids can take part in supervised play areas or explore Oceaneer Lab while adults can enjoy some quiet time at Palo or Remy restaurants.

After considering all four ships, it seems that the best cruise ship for kids would be either the Disney Dream or Fantasy, depending on what type of experiences you’re looking for. Both ships offer plenty of activities for kids of all ages as well as special amenities just for teens such as clubs and lounges.

Adults will appreciate that there are plenty of adults-only areas on board too! Whatever you choose, your family is sure to have an unforgettable experience aboard any one of these amazing ships!
