What Happened to the Cruise Ship Zenith?

By Robert Palmer

In 2020, the cruise ship Zenith was scheduled to take passengers on a journey to explore the Caribbean Sea. However, disaster struck in March when the ship ran aground near the Dominican Republic.

The vessel was about half way through its seven-day voyage when it encountered rough seas and strong winds. The crew attempted to navigate around the storm but were unable to avoid it. The ship lost power and drifted towards a small island off the coast of the Dominican Republic.

The captain sent out a distress call, but due to its remote location no help was available for several hours. In the meantime, passengers and crew aboard the Zenith had to wait in fear as they were unsure what would happen next.

Fortunately, a local fishing boat spotted them and alerted authorities who arrived shortly thereafter with tugboats and other vessels to help pull the Zenith free from its precarious position.

No one on board was injured, but some of the cabins were damaged due to water ingress from waves crashing against the side of the ship. The captain issued an apology for what happened and promised that all passengers would be refunded for their tickets as well as receive compensation for any property damage that had occurred during their ordeal.
