A Night Out Near London Bridge

How about a night out in London near London Bridge? This is a great area to stay too! Situated right by the Thames and between Tower Bridge and London Bridge. There are some super hotels including Shangri La Hotel and London Bridge Hotel.

Summer in the City! My favourite time of year in London, without doubt the best city in the world. We enjoyed the most perfect Summer evening at one of my favourites, The Shard near London Bridge. The Shard is the tallest building in London and offers magnificent views of the city. It is also home to Shangri La Hotel and some great restaurants and bars from which to enjoy the views.

We started the evening with Cocktails At Gong Bar on the 52nd floor of The Shard in The Shangdi La Hotel.

TIP: This is a tip for you actually, because it costs £27 per person to get a ticket to the viewing point at the top of The Shard but if you go to Gong Bar on 52nd Floor then enjoy the spectacular views while you sip cocktails! There is a minimum spend of £30 per person, but you can choose, Wine, Cocktails or bar snacks amongst other things.

So, we enjoyed the spectacular views and some delicious cocktails. Princess Chin and French Luxury, both yummy! Do not worry, if you do not drink alcohol because there re plenty of alcohol free cocktails to choose from at Gong Bar.

I love everything here, the fabulous staff (I did take a picture of the bar and cocktail barmen but it was a bit blurry – I blame the cocktails!), great ambiance, and the views. I will definitely be back again – the perfect cool bar to start or end an evening. Book a table near the window at Gong Bar

Then we hopped into the lift to go down to the ground floor and next door to the Restaurants entrance, whizzed up to 32 floors and found a wonderful welcome at Hutong Restaurant on 32nd Floor. Hutong restaurant is a fabulous treat!

A super chic restaurant, good food, excellent staff and the same incredible views! I would totally recommend Hutong Restaurant, found it to be a wonderful experience, and not expensive.

We ate Prawn Spring rolls, the most perfectly cooked Duck which is for 2 people and such generous portions. The Duck was served with pancakes and all the little sauces and whatnot then the second half of the dish arrives which I will leave as a surprise for you to discover. Drinks were Sparkling water, we did not need more alcohol after the scrummy cocktails.

Make sure to book a window table at Hutong Restaurant in order to enjoy the spectacular view. Our table was facing London Bridge and West London as you can see in my photo below.

What a fun evening! Even the views from the Ladies room are spectacular. Great food, super cocktails and fun company – who could ask for more?

Then round off a perfect evening with a stroll across London Bridge. You really need to see The Shard from the other side of the Thames to admire its scale and beauty. We finished the evening at Coppa Club, which has magnificent views of The Shard, London Bridge and tower Bridge. Have more cocktails, a nice glass of wine (we enjoyed our favourite Minuty wine) and some dessert. A little bit touristy and not luxurious but still fun!

Tip: There is an enormous inexpensive car park right next to Coppa Club and big enough for my Range Rover.

Just look at those views again! We chose the most perfect summer night for a stroll alongside the Thames over London Bridge. On the way back to The Shard complete a big loop by walking over Tower Bridge.
