Can You Live on a Cruise Ship?

By Alice Nichols

Cruise ships have become increasingly popular as a way of holidaying, with the industry growing and new ships launching every year. As they offer the perfect combination of relaxation, entertainment, and exploration, it’s no surprise that more and more people are choosing to live on them full-time.

Living on a cruise ship has many advantages; the main one being that it is incredibly convenient. Since all of your necessary amenities, such as food, water, and electricity are provided on board, you don’t need to worry about providing these yourself. Furthermore, you get to visit a variety of places without having to pack and unpack every time you move destination.

In terms of cost effectiveness too; living on a cruise ship can be far cheaper than renting an apartment or buying a house in some places. A person can rent out a cabin for an extended period of time at relatively low costs compared to other forms of accommodation. Plus, the meals are all-inclusive so there’s no need to worry about grocery shopping or cooking meals every day.

However, living on a cruise ship isn’t for everyone and there are some downsides too. For one thing; space is limited since you only have your cabin to call home – which means limited storage space as well as smaller living quarters than you would find in most apartments or houses. Additionally, there’s no guarantee that you’ll get to explore all the destinations you want to visit since many cruises operate on set itineraries which may not fit into everyone’s plans.

The lifestyle also isn’t for those who prefer their own company – living on board means being surrounded by hundreds (if not thousands) of other people who may not necessarily share your interests or values. This could quickly become overwhelming if one is used to having alone time regularly.

Overall; living on a cruise ship has its upsides as well as its downsides but it ultimately comes down to personal preference and individual needs whether or not it is suitable for someone long term –– some people may thrive off this unique lifestyle while others may find it stifling and restrictive. Can You Live On A Cruise Ship? The answer is yes; with careful planning and research it is possible for someone to live comfortably on a cruise ship full-time – however, this lifestyle isn’t suited for everyone so make sure to thoroughly consider whether or not it would work for you before making any decisions!
