Did a Woman Jump Off a Cruise Ship?

In a shocking incident, an Australian woman reportedly jumped off a cruise ship in the Mediterranean Sea. The woman in question was identified as Kay Longstaff, who had been vacationing on the Adriatic Sea aboard the Norwegian Star. She was reported missing by her family after she disappeared from the ship near Croatia on August 19th.

According to witnesses, Longstaff had been seen drinking on the deck of the cruise ship before she went overboard. Reports indicate that she jumped off at around 9:30pm and spent more than 10 hours in the sea before being rescued. It is not known how Longstaff managed to stay afloat for so long and survive such an ordeal.

The search for Longstaff was conducted by Croatian coastguards and involved helicopters and boats. The coastguards were eventually able to locate her floating in the sea some 12 miles away from where she fell off. She had reportedly been swimming for over 10 hours when they found her.

Longstaff was taken to a hospital in Pula where doctors confirmed that she was in good health considering what she had gone through. Her parents were relieved to find out that their daughter was safe and sound.
