Have you ever wondered if the cast of Parks and Recreation really went to London for the show’s season six finale? Well, the answer is yes! In fact, the trip to London was a highlight of the entire series.

In the episode “London”, which aired on April 24, 2014, Leslie Knope (played by Amy Poehler) and Ben Wyatt (played by Adam Scott) travel to London for her acceptance of an award from an international women’s organization.

But it wasn’t just Leslie and Ben who made the trip across the pond. The entire cast was in London filming scenes for this episode. In addition to Poehler and Scott, Rashida Jones, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pratt, Aziz Ansari, Nick Offerman, Retta, Jim O’Heir, and Rob Lowe all made the trip.

Location Shots

The cast visited various London landmarks while filming the episode. Some of these locations include Buckingham Palace and a red telephone booth outside Parliament. They even filmed a scene on top of a double-decker bus!

Behind-the-Scenes

Of course, filming on location comes with its own set of challenges. According to an interview with executive producer Michael Schur in Entertainment Weekly, they had to deal with rain and wind while shooting outdoor scenes. Additionally, they had to make sure that their filming schedule didn’t interfere with important events happening in London at the time.

Despite these challenges, “London” turned out to be one of Parks and Recreation’s most memorable episodes. The combination of location shots and humorous storyline made it a fan favorite.
