The History of Dukla Prague

Dukla Prague was a Czech football club founded in 1948. The club was based in the city of Prague and named after the Dukla Pass in the Carpathian Mountains. The club had a successful history, winning 11 Czechoslovak First League titles, and reaching the European Cup semi-finals in 1967.

The Decline of Dukla Prague

Unfortunately, due to financial difficulties, the club began to decline in the 1990s. In 1997, it merged with FC Prag to form FK Dukla Prague. However, this new club was short-lived and dissolved in 1998.

The Revival of Dukla Prague

In 2001, a new club named FC Dukla Prague was established by supporters of the original club. This new club initially played in lower leagues but has since worked its way up to the Czech First League and is still active today.

Conclusion

So, while the original Dukla Prague may no longer exist as it did before, its legacy lives on through its successor clubs. Fans of the original team can still support FC Dukla Prague and remember the glory days of one of Czech football’s most successful clubs.
