Does Hulu or Netflix Have Vacation?

By Anna Duncan

Are you planning a vacation but don’t want to miss your favorite shows and movies? The good news is, both Hulu and Netflix offer their own version of vacation mode.

Hulu’s Vacation Mode:
Hulu allows users to place their subscription on hold for up to 12 weeks. This feature is called “Vacation Hold” and can be accessed through your account settings.

Once you activate it, your account will be paused, and you won’t be charged during that time. However, this feature is only available for users who have the ad-supported plan or the ad-supported student plan.

Steps to Activate Hulu’s Vacation Mode:

  1. Log in to your Hulu account.
  2. Go to your Account page.
  3. Scroll down to “Your Subscription” section.
  4. Select “Pause Your Subscription.”
  5. Choose the duration of the pause, up to 12 weeks maximum.
  6. Confirm your selection by clicking “Submit.”

Once you’re ready to resume streaming, simply log back into your account and turn off vacation mode.

Netflix’s Vacation Mode:
Unlike Hulu, Netflix doesn’t have an official “Vacation Mode.” However, there are two ways you can still enjoy your favorite content without missing out while traveling.

1. Download Option:

Netflix allows users with select plans to download TV shows and movies onto their mobile device or tablet.

This means that you can watch them without an internet connection, making it perfect for long flights or road trips. Please note that not all titles are available for download.

2. Shared Account:

If you have a friend or family member who also has a Netflix subscription, you could ask them if they’d be willing to share their account temporarily. Netflix allows multiple people to use the same account simultaneously, so you can still access your favorite content without disrupting their viewing experience.

Steps to download a title on Netflix:

  1. Make sure you have the latest version of the Netflix app downloaded on your mobile device or tablet.
  2. Open the Netflix app and find the TV show or movie you want to download.
  3. Tap on the “Download” icon next to the title.
  4. The download will start automatically, and you can access it from the “Downloads” section within the app.

In conclusion, both Hulu and Netflix offer options for those who want to take a break from streaming during vacation. Hulu has a dedicated “Vacation Hold” feature, while Netflix allows users to download content or share accounts with others. So go ahead and enjoy your vacation without worrying about missing out on your favorite shows!
