How Do You Get Alcohol on a Carnival Cruise Ship?

By Anna Duncan

Carnival Cruise ships offer an exciting array of activities, attractions and food options to choose from for passengers. But for many, the highlight of any cruise is being able to enjoy a few drinks. So how do you get alcohol on a Carnival Cruise ship?

The easiest way to get alcohol on board a Carnival Cruise is to purchase it from one of the bars and lounges located around the ship. Passengers can choose from a wide selection of beers, wines, spirits and mixed drinks at any of these venues. It is important to note that all drinks must be consumed on board and not taken off the ship. Additionally, passengers must be 21 years of age or older in order to purchase any alcoholic beverages.

Another option is to purchase an adult beverage package before boarding the cruise.

Carnival offers packages that include beer, wine and/or spirits depending on the package purchased. These packages offer savings compared to buying individual drinks while also allowing passengers to enjoy their favorite alcoholic beverages throughout their cruise at a discounted rate.

Bringing Your Own Alcohol On Board

Passengers are allowed to bring two bottles (750ml each) of wine or champagne per stateroom when boarding the ship. All other types of alcohol will not be allowed onboard and will be confiscated if discovered during security check-in process at the port terminal. Any alcoholic beverages purchased in ports-of-call must remain sealed until disembarkation from the ship at which point they can be taken off with you as part of your luggage allowance.

Conclusion:

Getting alcohol on board a Carnival Cruise is easy with several options available for passengers including purchasing it onboard or bringing your own in limited quantities. All drinks must be consumed on board and those under 21 years old are prohibited from purchasing any form of alcohol.
