So, just how many football teams are there in London?

Well, to put it simply, there are a lot! In fact, there are over 90 professional and semi-professional football teams in the Greater London area alone. This includes teams from all levels of the English football pyramid, ranging from the Premier League to non-league sides.

Professional Teams in London

At the top of the pyramid are the six Premier League clubs based in London. These include Arsenal, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Fulham. These teams compete at the highest level of English football and regularly attract some of the biggest crowds in Europe.

Below them are several Championship sides like Queens Park Rangers (QPR), Millwall and Brentford who also have a significant following.

Finally, we have non-league clubs which make up a significant portion of football teams in London. The non-league system is made up of several tiers with numerous clubs playing at each level. Some notable non-league sides include Dulwich Hamlet FC, Enfield Town FC and Greenwich Borough FC.
