But have you ever wondered how old the Osthoff Resort is? Let’s take a look at its history.

The Early Years

The Osthoff Resort was founded by Walter J. Kohler Sr., the former Governor of Wisconsin and owner of the Kohler Company. It was originally built as a private retreat for Kohler and his family in 1886.

During the early years, the resort was known as “The Osthoff – A Kohler Experience.” It consisted of a main lodge building and several cottages that were used as guest accommodations.

Expansion and Renovation

In 1995, the resort underwent a major expansion and renovation project. The project included adding an additional wing to the main lodge building, renovating all existing guest rooms, and adding new amenities such as an indoor water park.

During this time, the resort also changed its name to “The Osthoff Resort” to reflect its new identity as a premier vacation destination.

Today, the Osthoff Resort is over 130 years old and continues to offer guests a luxurious and relaxing experience. The resort features 245 guest rooms and suites, each with its own unique decor and style.
