Is a Blue Whale Bigger Than a Cruise Ship?

By Michael Ferguson

There is no doubt that the blue whale is one of the largest animals on earth. It is also one of the most mysterious and awe-inspiring creatures in the world.

The blue whale, Balaenoptera Musculus, is a species of baleen whale, which means it has a filter-feeding system. It can grow up to 30 meters long and weigh up to 190 tons!

Just how big is a blue whale compared to a cruise ship? Cruise ships vary in size and can range from 90 to 300 meters long and weigh anywhere from 50,000 to 225,000 tons.

It’s easy to see that a cruise ship is much larger than a blue whale. The largest cruise ships are more than three times as long as the longest blue whales, and weigh up to 1,125 times as much!

Although the blue whale may not be as large as a cruise ship, it still stands out from other animals due to its impressive size. Its huge heart alone weighs about 400 pounds! Additionally, its mouth can hold up to 90 tons of food and water.

The blue whale has several other remarkable features that make it stand out from other species: its blowhole is twice the size of an average human being; its tongue weighs around 2.7 tons; and its heart beats just nine times per minute while at rest.

Conclusion:

It is clear that a cruise ship is much bigger than a blue whale. Cruise ships are much longer and heavier than even the longest blue whales.

However, despite its smaller size compared to cruise ships, the blue whale has some remarkable features that set it apart from other animals. Its immense heart alone weighs 400 pounds, while its mouth can hold up to 90 tons of food and water!
