Is Big Sky a Vail Resort?

By Michael Ferguson

Big Sky Resort is a ski resort located in Montana, USA. It is one of the most popular skiing destinations in the country. However, there have been many questions regarding whether Big Sky Resort is a Vail Resort or not.

To answer this question, we need to understand what Vail Resorts are. Vail Resorts is a company that owns and operates several ski resorts across North America. Some of its most popular resorts include Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, and Keystone in Colorado; Park City in Utah; Heavenly, Northstar, and Kirkwood in California and Nevada; and Whistler Blackcomb in British Columbia.

Now, coming back to Big Sky Resort – the answer to the question is no, Big Sky Resort is not a Vail Resort. It is owned by Boyne Resorts, which is another company that operates several ski resorts across North America.

However, there is an interesting connection between Big Sky Resort and Vail Resorts. In 2018, Vail Resorts acquired Triple Peaks LLC – the parent company of three ski resorts: Okemo Mountain Resort in Vermont, Mount Sunapee Resort in New Hampshire, and Crested Butte Mountain Resort in Colorado. Boyne Resorts used to manage these three ski resorts before they were acquired by Vail Resorts.

So even though Big Sky Resort is not officially a part of Vail Resorts’ portfolio of ski resorts, it does have an indirect connection to it through its former management company.

In conclusion, Big Sky Resort may not be a part of Vail Resorts but it remains one of the most sought-after skiing destinations among enthusiasts from all over the world. With its vast terrain spread across 5,800 acres and over 300 runs catering to all skill levels – from beginners to experts – it truly offers an unforgettable experience for all skiers who visit this beautiful resort nestled amidst the Rocky Mountains.
