The country is approximately three times the size of Germany, and has a population of just over two million people. Botswana is bordered by South Africa, Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. It was once part of the British protectorate known as Bechuanaland.

There are 11 official languages spoken in the country and English is used as the official language in education and business.
