Is Disney Building a Resort in Texas?

By Michael Ferguson

There have been rumors swirling around the internet that Disney is planning to build a new resort in Texas. While there is some truth to these rumors, the details are still somewhat murky.

What We Know So Far

The idea of a Disney resort in Texas first surfaced in 2018, when a developer named William Hutchinson announced plans for a 1,400-acre development in the Fort Worth area. The development was set to include a theme park, water park, hotels, and even an RV park.

At the time, many people speculated that this development could be a new Disney resort. After all, Disney has been known to partner with developers in the past to create large-scale resorts like Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disney Resort.

However, Disney itself has not made any official announcements about a Texas resort. When asked about the rumors back in 2018, a spokesperson for the company simply said “we have no plans for a theme park or other development in Texas.”

Since then, there haven’t been many updates about the proposed Fort Worth development. Some reports suggest that Hutchinson is still moving forward with his plans, while others claim that he has put them on hold.

What Could This Mean?

If Disney were to partner with Hutchinson on this project, it could be a huge win for both companies. Texas is one of the fastest-growing states in America and is home to millions of families who would no doubt be interested in visiting a new theme park.

Additionally, building a new resort would allow Disney to expand its reach and diversify its offerings beyond its current locations in California, Florida, Hawaii and overseas.

However, until we hear an official announcement from Disney or Hutchinson themselves it’s hard to say what will come of this rumored project.

Conclusion

At this point it’s difficult to say whether or not Disney will be building a new resort in Texas. While there are certainly some signs that suggest this could be a possibility, there are also reasons to be skeptical.

Regardless of whether or not a new resort is in the works, Disney fans can rest assured that the company will continue to provide magical experiences for families all around the world.
