Is Hidden Valley a Vail Resort?

By Anna Duncan

If you’re a skiing or snowboarding enthusiast, you’ve probably heard of Vail Resorts. This company is one of the largest resort operators in North America and owns some of the most popular ski resorts in the United States.

One of their most well-known resorts is Hidden Valley Ski Resort, but is Hidden Valley actually a Vail Resort? Let’s take a closer look.

What are Vail Resorts?

Before we answer this question, let’s first understand what Vail Resorts are. Vail Resorts is a publicly traded company that owns and operates 37 ski resorts across North America, including some of the most popular ones such as Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, and Keystone in Colorado; Park City in Utah; Whistler Blackcomb in British Columbia; and Heavenly, Northstar, and Kirkwood in California/Nevada.

Is Hidden Valley owned by Vail Resorts?

The answer to this question is no. Hidden Valley Ski Resort is not owned by Vail Resorts. It is actually owned by Snow Time Inc., a Pennsylvania-based company that also owns two other ski resorts in Pennsylvania – Seven Springs Mountain Resort and Laurel Mountain Ski Resort.

What makes people think that Hidden Valley is a Vail Resort?

Despite not being owned by Vail Resorts, there are several reasons why people may think that Hidden Valley is part of the Vail Resorts family. For starters, Hidden Valley has been included on some multi-resort season pass products sold by Vail Resorts. For example, during the 2019-2020 ski season, Hidden Valley was included on the Epic Pass and Epic Local Pass sold by Vail Resorts.

Additionally, both Vail Resorts and Snow Time Inc. are part of the National Ski Areas Association (NSAA), which is an industry group that represents ski area owners/operators in the United States. As part of their membership in the NSAA, both Vail Resorts and Snow Time Inc. have access to industry data and resources, which may lead to some confusion among consumers.

Conclusion

In summary, Hidden Valley Ski Resort is not a Vail Resort. It is owned by Snow Time Inc., a Pennsylvania-based company that also owns Seven Springs Mountain Resort and Laurel Mountain Ski Resort. While Hidden Valley has been included on some multi-resort season passes sold by Vail Resorts, it is not part of the Vail Resorts family.
