Is It Better to Be at the Front or Back of a Cruise Ship?

By Alice Nichols

When planning your next cruise, you may have to decide between the front and back of the ship. Although both options have their pros and cons, it ultimately comes down to personal preference.

Pros of the Front

One of the main advantages of staying at the front of the ship is that it tends to offer more spectacular views. From here, you can enjoy breathtaking sunrises and sunsets as well as stunning views of the open ocean. Additionally, the front tends to be much quieter than other parts of the ship since there are fewer passengers in this area.

Cons of the Front

The downside to choosing a cabin at the front is that it can be more prone to motion sickness due to its location closer to waves and other movements in the water. In addition, some cruise lines charge a premium for cabins located in this area since they offer better views and greater privacy.

Pros of the Back

Staying at the back of a cruise ship has several advantages. For example, cabins located in this area tend to be more affordable due to their lack of ocean views. Additionally, passengers staying at the back will not experience motion sickness as much as those at the front due to its location further away from waves and other movements in water.

Cons of The Back

The downside to choosing a cabin at the back is that you won’t have as many opportunities for sightseeing from your cabin windows as those at the front will have. Furthermore, this area can also get noisy since it is usually closer to restaurants and other activities on board.

Conclusion: Is It Better To Be At The Front or Back Of A Cruise Ship?

It really depends on what your preferences are when deciding whether it’s better to stay at either end of a cruise ship! If you prefer spectacular views with peace and quiet then you should choose a cabin at the front; however if you’re looking for an affordable option with less motion sickness then opt for one at the back!
