Is Pearl River Resort Closing?

By Michael Ferguson

Many people have been asking whether the Pearl River Resort is closing down. The rumors have been circulating for a while now, and it’s time to set the record straight. Here’s what we know so far.

Background

The Pearl River Resort is a popular casino and hotel complex located in Choctaw, Mississippi. It is owned and operated by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians. The resort features several hotels, a spa, multiple restaurants, and gaming facilities.

The Rumors

Rumors about the potential closure of the Pearl River Resort began to circulate in late 2020. Some reports suggested that the resort was struggling financially due to the COVID-19 pandemic and may not be able to continue operations.

The Truth

While many businesses have struggled during the pandemic, there is no evidence to suggest that the Pearl River Resort is closing down anytime soon. In fact, recent reports indicate that the resort has been taking steps to improve its financial position.

In December 2020, it was announced that Twin River Worldwide Holdings had acquired the rights to operate three of four casinos owned by Eldorado Resorts Inc., including Silver Legacy Resort Casino in Reno, Nevada; Circus Circus Reno in Reno; and MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa in South Lake Tahoe, California.

This acquisition makes Twin River Worldwide Holdings one of the largest gaming companies in America with 13 casinos across eight states. This merger will bring significant financial stability to their properties which include Tiverton Casino Hotel and Golden Gates Casino.

Conclusion

In conclusion, there is no evidence at this time suggesting that Pearl River Resort is closing down due to financial struggles related to COVID-19 pandemic or any other factor. In fact, with Twin River Worldwide Holdings acquiring more gaming assets across America including three Eldorado sites which were once underperforming, this can bring even more stability to the Pearl River Resort and other gaming sites.
