Is There Amazon in Dubai?

By Anna Duncan

Are you wondering if Amazon is available in Dubai? The answer is yes, but with a few caveats.

Amazon.ae

In May 2019, Amazon acquired Souq.com, the largest online retailer in the Middle East. As a result, Amazon launched its platform in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as Amazon.ae. This means that residents of Dubai and other cities in the UAE can access Amazon’s vast selection of products, including electronics, fashion, household items, and more.

However, it’s important to note that unlike Amazon.com, which operates globally and ships to most countries around the world, Amazon.ae only ships within the UAE. So while Dubai residents can purchase items from the platform, they won’t be able to ship them internationally.

Prime Membership

One of the perks of being an Amazon customer is having access to their Prime membership program. Unfortunately, Prime membership is not currently available for customers in Dubai or other parts of the UAE. However, according to reports from local media outlets, Amazon is working on launching Prime services in the region soon.

  • Local Products

Another benefit of shopping on Amazon.ae is that it offers a wide range of local products that may not be available on other global marketplaces. This includes regional brands and locally made products that cater specifically to customers in the Middle East.

Conclusion

In summary, Dubai residents can use Amazon through its UAE-based platform – Amazon.ae – to purchase a variety of products. However, shipping is limited within the region and Prime membership services are not yet available. Nonetheless, with its extensive selection and local product offerings, shopping on Amazon.ae remains an attractive option for those living in Dubai or other cities within the UAE.

So go ahead and indulge yourself by exploring all that Amazon.ae has to offer!
