Monaco Yacht Show 2019. Another incredibly successful show comes to and end. The world’s most prestigious Yacht Show in the world with 3 billion dollars worth of the best Super Yachts in the world. If you are looking to buy or charter a Yacht, this is the place for you!

Times change and we are all becoming more aware of the environment and want Eco Friendly Planes, houses, Cars and …..Yachts. Luckily the Yacht industry is quickly changing and embracing Hybrid Technology. I was so impressed by Tankoa Super Yacht Binatador. Modern technology combined with super chic Italian design.

50m Tankoa Superyacht Bintador

50 metre S501 hybrid superyacht Binatador, by Tankoa was a shining star at the Monaco Yacht Show and one of my personal favourites.

Binatador is based on the same stunning architecture as Vertige, and Vertige was my favourite at MYS two years ago! Her French owners have incredibly good taste, Every little detail is perfection!

The yacht was launched at a private ceremony at the Genoa based yard in May.  If I was going to have my own Super Yacht, a visit to the Tankoa Yard would be my first port of call.

Binatador has a few of differences from Vertige namely her hybrid propulsion package. This is so exciting to see the Super Yacht market moving forward and embracing new technology. She has 5 cabins for 10 guests, with an enormous and gorgeous galley located on the main deck.  This yacht is designed for entertaining!

The yacht features a touch and go helipad on the foredeck, I am amazed that more yachts of this size do not adopt this feature. Binatador has an aluminium hull and superstructure.

The hybrid propulsion system consists of twin MTU 8V4000M54 engines and two 300kW electric motors, allowing the yacht to operate in four “modes”.  DEM (diesel electric mode), for a top speed of 10.5 knots, hybrid model, for a top speed of 12 knots, traditional mode, for a top speed of 16.5 knots, and full speed mode for a top speed of 18 knots.

Stunning Interior design by Francesco Paskowski Designa and Margherita Casprini. the interior has a very elegant colour palette of muted tones.

The lower deck is equipped with a gym, beach club, two VIP cabins and two guest cabins, as well as the crew quarters.

The chic master suite has a lounge and fold-out terrace and is on the main deck, alongside the cockpit, galley, dining room and saloon. The upper deck includes chill out areas and access to the sky lounge.

M/Y Endeavour 2

Another favourite Super Yacht at Monaco Yacht Show was M/Y Endeavour, a yacht with features an innovative diesel electric power plant with azimuthing Rolls Royce pods.

She has a maximum speed of 16 knots, a cruising speed of 12 knots and impressive 5,000nm range. The yacht is designed for worldwide cruising, suited for long range expeditions and features amongst other things an amphibian car to ensure that guests reach remote places in style.

Also, a super chic interior with a very tasteful colour palette.

If I were to buy a Super Yacht, it would definitely be a good idea to Charter first. Check out the Super Yacht by chartering before you buy! I enjoyed a lovely evening at a Press event aboard and met the very knowledgeable team at Ocean Independence

I will definitely contact Ocean Independence if I charter a Yacht and they have a great selection of Super Yachts for sale including M/Y Endeavour 2. Also the team have many years of experience.

 I am often asked:

What to Wear to Monaco Yacht Show:

Smart casual, slightly yachty look!  My top tip is wear comfortable slip on deck shoes.  You will walk miles and if you have an invitation to board a yacht then you can slip off your shoes and leave them in the shoe basket. Also it is usually quite warm at the end of September, so wear layers.
