Stay at The Feathers Hotel Woodstock

Stay at the Feathers Hotel in Woodstock, Oxfordshire. A 17c Town house hotel set in the heart of the prettiest town of Woodstock, Oxfordshire. Enjoy one of the 5 Suites or 16 spacious rooms and bring your dog along too!

Dogs are welcome at The Feathers Hotel

The Feathers Hotel is dog friendly and both of my little canine companions had a wonderful time! In my experience travelling around Europe with the pooches, it is the best hotels that allow them to stay as guests. Dogs are allowed everywhere at the Feathers Hotel, except the restaurant.

We all enjoyed the activities nearby too. So wonderful to stay in a dog friendly hotel.

Rooms and Suites at The Feathers Hotel

We stayed in Suite 5 above which was calm, relaxing and beautifully decorated. Spacious too! The usual enormous amount of Diva luggage piled up just inside the door. It was several hours later that we discovered an enormous walk in wardrobe. Being terribly english and polite, we didn’t discover it for some time, tucked away behind a closed door!

This has happy Luxury Travel Diva’s name on it really. Walk in wardrobe and …… an enormous bathtub! I don’t like staying in hotels which only have showers, so this was wonderful!

Relax and revive in the calming Suite with a cup of tea, before checking out the Gin Bar with over 400 different gins! Super comfy bed, which is my top criteria for a hotel stay.

Restaurant and Bar at The Feathers Hotel

Check out the pretty Gin Bar, reknowned for stocking over 400 types of Gin. We tried the local Cotswold Gin and were very impressed, would definitely buy a bottle, that is for sure! The staff at The Feathers are all super friendly and helpful.

Both of the Barmen are knowledgeable about the Gin collection. One of them, Antonio is in the photo below.

Dogs are not allowed in the restaurant, but they can come into the bar. In order to avoid howling dogs (they have abandonment issues if left in a hotel Suite!) we opted to dine in the bar. Warm and cosy with a lovely fire this was a perfect choice.

A good choice of menu with options for Vegan and Vegetarian diners. I started with a delicious Artichoke Soup. So good, I might have to start growing Artichokes again!

Mr Diva enjoyed Mussels served with Ham, which is quite unusual. We both decided on a glass of Chilean Chardonnay to accompany the meal. A good selection of wines to choose.

My main course was a whole Plaice. This is the best Plaice I have enjoyed in YEARS. Congrats to the Chef. Mr Diva was spoilt for choice with Pork Belly, Blade cut Beef, pie and many delights but he chose yummy Fish and Chips!

We were too full to try one of the delicious desserts. An early night was in order after a day exploring the Cotswolds.

Breakfast at The Feathers Hotel

A good nights sleep then a delicious breakfast to start the day.

Tuck into a good selection at the buffet and choose from Full English Breakfast, variety of eggs, Pancakes and other choices from the menu.

Mr Diva loved his full English breakfast. I don’t know how he manages to eat so much and stay slim.

My Omlette was perfection and I loved the Spinach which made a nice change.

We loved the eclectic mix of lovely paintings, antiques and sculptures dotted around the hotel. My favourite was this Teacup Sculpture below.

There is plenty to do within walking distance of the hotel and a short drive away. There is no parking at the hotel but we easily found a space on the street right outside and it was free parking by the hotel. Here are some of my favourites:

If you do not have dogs then visit Blenheim Palace, gardens and ground for £27. However, dogs are only allowed in the grounds. This cost £17 per person but you can walk in the grounds via a net work of public footpaths.

The one we walked went past the lake with the Palace in the background and was very popular with walkers.
