Was Suite Life on Deck Filmed on a Cruise Ship?

By Alice Nichols

The popular show Suite Life On Deck was a huge hit during its time. It featured the adventures of Zack and Cody, two twins who move to a cruise ship. But was it actually filmed on a cruise ship?

The short answer is no – the show was not filmed on an actual cruise ship. Most of the scenes were shot in a studio in Hollywood, California. This is where the majority of exterior shots were filmed, as well as some interior shots such as Zack and Cody’s cabin and other common areas.

The exterior shots of the boat were captured using CGI (Computer Generated Imagery). This allowed for realistic views of the boat at sea, as well as scenes involving speedboat chases and other exciting sequences.

Some interior shots were also filmed on location in various locations around the world. These locations varied from episode to episode and included places like Mexico, France, Italy, Hawaii, India and England.

The cast also took several trips on real cruise ships, which allowed them to get an authentic feel for life aboard a boat. In addition to this they also learned how to navigate their way around the ships and perform certain activities such as swimming in the pool or playing mini golf.

So while Suite Life On Deck was not actually filmed on a cruise ship, it was able to capture many of its features thanks to CGI and location shooting. The cast also had a chance to experience life on board first hand which helped them bring their roles to life.

Conclusion:

Was Suite Life On Deck Filmed on a Cruise Ship? No – it wasn’t.

The majority of filming took place in Hollywood studios with some exterior shots being captured using CGI and some interior shots being filmed at different locations around the world.
