Was the Royal Family in European Vacation?

By Robert Palmer

When it comes to travel movies, “European Vacation” is one of the most beloved. The film follows the adventures of the Griswold family as they travel across Europe, encountering various mishaps and misadventures along the way.

One question that often comes up among fans of the movie is whether or not the Royal Family makes an appearance. After all, many iconic European landmarks and cultural touchstones are featured in the film – surely the Royals would make an appearance as well?

The answer, unfortunately, is no – the Royal Family does not appear in “European Vacation.” While there are plenty of other notable figures who make appearances throughout the film (including a memorable encounter with a group of German-speaking tourists), there is no sighting of Her Majesty or any other members of the British monarchy.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that “European Vacation” isn’t still a fantastic movie for anyone looking to explore Europe from the comfort of their own home. From London to Paris to Rome and beyond, viewers can get a taste of some of Europe’s most iconic landmarks and cultural experiences.

One particularly memorable scene takes place at Stonehenge, where Clark Griswold (played by Chevy Chase) attempts to recreate a photo he saw in a travel brochure. The resulting chaos is hilarious and perfectly captures the spirit of family vacations gone wrong.

Throughout it all, “European Vacation” remains an entertaining and engaging piece of cinema. While it may not feature any appearances from royalty, it still manages to capture some of Europe’s most beloved sights and sounds while also delivering plenty of laughs along the way.

So if you’re looking for a fun and lighthearted way to explore Europe without leaving your living room, “European Vacation” is definitely worth checking out. Just don’t expect any visits from Her Majesty along the way!
