Lincolnshire is a county in East Midlands of England, and consists of seven districts: North Lincolnshire, South Holland, West Lindsey, City of Lincoln, South Kesteven, North Kesteven and East Lindsey. It is bordered by Nottinghamshire to the south-west, Leicestershire to the south-east and Rutland to the south. With its beautiful rolling countryside and charming market towns, it is no wonder that Lincolnshire is one of the most popular places to live in England.

City of Lincoln

The city of Lincoln is one of the most vibrant places in Lincolnshire. Located on a hilltop overlooking the Witham Valley, it has a rich history spanning more than two millennia.

The Cathedral Quarter is home to some stunning medieval architecture and cobbled streets filled with independent shops, restaurants and pubs. The city also boasts excellent cultural amenities such as theatres and art galleries. As well as this there are many green spaces including Hartsholme Country Park and Boultham Park – perfect for walks or picnics with family or friends.

South Holland

South Holland is an area known for its wonderful flat landscape full of canals and riverside views. It has a friendly atmosphere with many quaint villages such as Spalding and Crowland that were once thriving market towns with wonderful churches at their centres. There are also some fantastic nature reserves in this area including Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve – a great place for bird watching or walking along the sea wall.

Gainsborough Old Hall has been around since 1460 and offers an insight into what life was like during Tudor times while Normanby Hall Country Park provides a range of outdoor activities from fishing to golfing as well as beautiful gardens to explore. Market Rasen Racecourse is also located here which makes it an ideal place for those who love horse racing or just want to enjoy a day out at the races.
