What Are the Best Places to Visit in Washington State?

Washington State is an amazing place to visit. From the snow-capped Cascade Mountains and Pacific Ocean beaches, to the lush green valleys and vibrant cities, there is something for everyone in Washington State.

If you are looking for outdoor adventure, Washington State offers some of the best hiking and camping in the country. Mount Rainier National Park, Olympic National Park and North Cascades National Park all provide spectacular views of cascading waterfalls, towering mountains, and thick forests. If you’re looking for a more leisurely outdoor experience, Washington also has plenty of parks and gardens to explore.

Washington State also offers some great urban experiences. The city of Seattle is a vibrant mix of culture, art, music and food. There are endless attractions including the Space Needle observation tower, Pike Place Market seafood stalls and the Chihuly Garden glass sculptures.

On the east side of Washington state lies Spokane which is known as “The Lilac City” due to its abundance of lilac shrubs that bloom each spring. Spokane is home to Riverfront Park which is a 100-acre park along the banks of the Spokane River with access to walking trails and bike paths. Spokane also hosts many festivals throughout the year including Hoopfest (the world’s largest three-on-three basketball tournament) in June.

If you’re looking for a quieter experience but still want access to great scenery then consider visiting one of Washington States many small towns like Leavenworth or Friday Harbor which are both located on Puget Sound. Leavenworth offers visitors quaint Bavarian-style architecture while Friday Harbor boasts stunning views of San Juan Island.
