By Alice Nichols

Cruise ships come in all shapes and sizes, but one thing is for sure: the larger ones can hold more people. Cruise ships are known for their grand size and luxurious amenities, and some of them can carry thousands of passengers onboard. But what cruise ship holds the most passengers?

The world’s largest cruise ship is Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas. This behemoth of a vessel measures 228,081 gross tonnes and has a maximum capacity of 6,680 passengers.

It also holds 2,759 crew members. This enormous ship includes an array of features including an aqua park with two water slides, a zip line, mini golf course, rock climbing wall, multiple restaurants and bars, entertainment venues, and even its own exclusive shopping mall.

The next largest cruise ship is also from Royal Caribbean: Harmony of the Seas. This impressive vessel measures 226,963 gross tonnes and can accommodate 6,687 passengers. Like Symphony of the Seas it has plenty of features such as two waterslides – Typhoon and Cyclone – two FlowRider surf simulators for those who want to catch some waves on board, rock climbing walls, full-service spa facilities as well as multiple dining options.

The third-largest cruise ship is MSC Meraviglia which measures 171,598 gross tonnes and can accommodate up to 5800 passengers. This impressive vessel offers a variety of amenities including Broadway-style shows at the Carousel Lounge Theatre that are produced by Cirque du Soleil; an outdoor promenade with various restaurants; a gaming arcade; multiple swimming pools; and much more.

Conclusion:

When it comes to size and capacity for guests on board cruise ships Symphony Of The Seas from Royal Caribbean is at the top with a huge capacity that allows up to 6 680 passengers onboard. Following close behind it are two other vessels from Royal Caribbean that offer almost similar capacities – Harmony Of The Seas (6 687 passengers) and MSC Meraviglia (5 800 passengers).
