The Mysterious Disappearance of Amy Bradley

On March 24th, 1998, 23-year-old Amy Lynn Bradley went missing while on a Caribbean cruise with her family. She was last seen at 5am on the Royal Caribbean International’s Rhapsody of the Seas, a cruise ship that had left port in Puerto Rico the day before. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance remain a mystery to this day, and the search for answers continues.

Amy was traveling with her parents and two brothers at the time of her disappearance. They had boarded the cruise ship in San Juan, Puerto Rico and were scheduled to disembark at St Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands after a week-long trip. Amy had been enjoying herself on board before she went missing; she was described as being in good spirits and making friends with other passengers.

The morning of March 24th began like any other on board the Rhapsody of the Seas; it was around 5am when several passengers reported seeing an intoxicated Amy being carried away by two men. One witness reported hearing one of them yell “She’s coming with us”. The alarm was raised immediately, but when a search party went to investigate they found no trace of Amy or the two men.

Despite extensive search efforts by both authorities and family members over the years, there has been no sign of Amy since that fateful morning. Many theories have been put forward as to what may have happened to her, from abduction or foul play to voluntary disappearance and even suicide – but none have yet been confirmed or disproved.

The case has become renowned for its complexity and intrigue; it has been featured in documentaries and books across the world as well as inspiring an episode of CBS’ crime drama Cold Case Files in 2017. But despite all this publicity and attention, there is still no definitive answer as to what happened to Amy Bradley that fateful morning more than twenty years ago.
