What Do You Call the Person Who Cleans Your Cabin on a Cruise Ship?

By Michael Ferguson

Cruise ships are floating cities with thousands of passengers, and the crew and staff who attend to all of their needs. There is a multitude of different jobs and roles which must be filled in order for the ship to function correctly and safely. One such role is that of the cabin steward or stewardess, otherwise known as the person who cleans your cabin on a cruise ship.

Cabin stewards are responsible for cleaning the cabins on board a cruise ship. This includes making beds, vacuuming carpets, dusting furniture and wiping down surfaces.

They also take care of any requests from passengers such as extra pillows or towels. Additionally they may provide some basic maintenance such as changing light bulbs or fixing minor plumbing issues. Cabin stewards also stock the mini-bar with snacks, sodas, beer, and wine if available.

As well as cleaning cabins, cabin stewards also look after other areas of the ship such as public spaces like lounges and restaurants. They may also help with luggage handling when passengers embark or disembark from the vessel. Working hours can be long but they’re usually split into two shifts per day.

In conclusion, it is clear that cabin stewards play an important role in making sure that cruise ships operate efficiently and safely. Without them, passengers would not have access to clean cabins or other areas of the vessel.

So what do you call the person who cleans your cabin on a cruise ship? A cabin steward or stewardess!
