What Happened to the Old Royal Princess Cruise Ship?

By Anna Duncan

The Royal Princess cruise ship was a floating palace of luxury, elegance and sophistication. Once the flagship of the Princess Cruise Line, it served as a floating home to thousands of passengers each year and was renowned for its impeccable service and lavish tours.

The Royal Princess first set sail in 1992 and quickly became one of the most popular cruise ships in the world. It was equipped with some of the finest amenities available on any vessel, including a full-service spa, numerous bars, seven swimming pools and several top-notch restaurants. The ship was also known for its grand ballroom, which hosted some of the most extravagant parties at sea.

However, despite its popularity and luxurious features, the Royal Princess reached its final destination in 2016 when it was sold to an undisclosed buyer. After 24 years of service, the beloved vessel has now been retired from operation and is no longer part of the Princess Cruise Line fleet.

The Fate Of The Royal Princess

The Royal Princess is now owned by an American company called Global Maritime Group. Despite its new ownership however, little is known about its current whereabouts or plans for it in the future. Rumors suggest that it may be refurbished and put back into service with a new owner or even scrapped altogether.

Many die-hard fans were saddened to see their beloved ship retired from operation after so many years at sea. Nevertheless, they must now accept that the majestic vessel is no longer part of the Princess Cruise Line fleet.
