What Happened to Thomson Destiny Cruise Ship?

By Alice Nichols

Thomson Destiny was a large cruise ship operated by the Thomson Cruises fleet. It was built in 1985 and launched in 1986.

It was one of the first large vessels to be built for the British-based cruise line. The vessel had a length of 299 meters, a width of 32 meters, and a gross tonnage of 56,409 tons. It could accommodate up to 1,950 passengers and 500 crew members.

The vessel was equipped with 12 decks, two swimming pools, seven restaurants, seven bars and lounges, two show lounges, two fitness centers and much more. It also had an onboard spa that offered a variety of beauty treatments such as facials and massages.

The ship also featured two cinemas for guests to watch movies in comfort. There were also several shops on board where passengers could purchase souvenirs and other items.

Thomson Destiny sailed around the Mediterranean Sea for many years before it was sold in 2012 to new owners who renamed it Ocean Star Pacific. The new owners operated the vessel until 2019 when they decided to sell it off due to declining profits from their cruise business operations.

The vessel has since been sold again but its current whereabouts are unknown as there has been no news about what happened to it after its sale in 2019. Some people speculate that the ship could have been scrapped or used for storage purposes but there is no concrete evidence to support this theory yet.
