Along the way, they encounter various obstacles and misadventures, including a snake bite, a bus ride with an elderly group of black people singing spirituals and stealing their bus, and encountering a psycho trucker who ends up chasing them down.

After enduring all sorts of obstacles and setbacks in their quest for redemption, Josh and his friends finally arrive in Austin and retrieve the tape from Beth’s dorm room. However, they soon discover that Tiffany has already watched it and ended their relationship.

At this point in the movie Road Trip, it seems like everything has fallen apart for Josh. However, as he walks down the street feeling dejected and lost, he bumps into Beth. She comforts him and tells him that she has always had feelings for him.
