What Is an Ocean View on a Cruise Ship?

By Anna Duncan

When you think of a cruise, chances are the first thing that comes to mind is an amazing ocean view. The ocean view of a cruise ship can be one of the most memorable experiences ever.

From the moment you board the ship, you are surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the open sea. Even if you’re not lucky enough to have a balcony suite and an unobstructed view, there’s still plenty to see.

The most common type of ocean view on a cruise ship is from inside one’s cabin or stateroom. On most ships, this means large picture windows which offer excellent views of the passing scenery. Depending on your exact location on deck and your cabin’s proximity to the waterline, these windows can provide spectacular views that can take your breath away.

Most cruise ships also feature outdoor decks where passengers can go for some fresh air and enjoy views of the surrounding waters. These decks will often have seating areas where passengers can relax and take in their surroundings in comfort. In addition to enjoying panoramic ocean views from these decks, some cruise lines offer activities such as dance parties or live music performances for added entertainment.

Another great way to experience an ocean view on a cruise ship is from up above on its top deck. This area offers amazing views from a bird’s eye perspective and is often referred to as “the crow’s nest”. On certain ships, passengers can even get access to private areas with lounge chairs where they can spend hours looking out across the open sea.

An ocean view on a cruise ship is truly something special. Whether it’s through your cabin window or up top on its top deck, taking in all that nature has to offer while sailing across open waters is an experience that will stay with you forever.
