Carnival Cruise Line is one of the largest cruise operators in the world and offers an array of ships for its passengers. But what is the smallest ship in the Carnival Cruise Line? That would be the Carnival Fantasy, a 2,056-passenger vessel that measures 855 feet in length.

The Carnival Fantasy was built at Kvaerner Masa-Yards in Turku, Finland, and launched in 1990. The ship underwent an extensive renovation project in 2013 that included adding new dining venues, bars and lounges, as well as a new kids’ area and larger staterooms.

The Carnival Fantasy features a variety of amenities for passengers to enjoy during their voyage.

These include two swimming pools with waterslides, multiple hot tubs, numerous restaurants and bars, a casino, spa and fitness center, duty-free shopping mall, a theater for nightly entertainment shows, Serenity Adult Only Retreat (a relaxing area just for adults), library with books and games to borrow or purchase during your cruise vacation. It also has supervised activities for kids of all ages through Camp Carnival.


The Carnival Fantasy features more than 1,000 staterooms to accommodate up to 2,056 passengers. These include Interior Staterooms with bunk beds or two twin beds; Balcony Staterooms with either bunk beds or two twin beds plus a private balcony; Ocean View Staterooms featuring ocean views; Suite categories such as Grand Suite (1 bedroom with living room) or Junior Suite (2 bedrooms); as well as Accessible Staterooms designed for passengers with disabilities.


The Carnival Fantasy sails year-round from Charleston to Bermuda on 7-day cruises; it also travels to Bahamas on 4-day cruises from Port Canaveral. In addition to that it offers 3-day cruises from New Orleans to Cozumel (Mexico), 7-day Caribbean sailings from Mobile (Alabama) and 5-day Western Caribbean voyages from Galveston.
