What Should I Wear to an Indian Destination Wedding?

Attending an Indian destination wedding is an exciting experience, but it can also be a bit overwhelming to decide what to wear. After all, you don’t want to stand out too much or offend anyone with your choice of clothing. Fortunately, there are plenty of traditional and modern options that will keep you looking stylish and appropriate for the occasion.

When it comes to traditional attire for Indian destination weddings, women should opt for a saree or lehenga. A saree is a long length of fabric that is draped around the body in various styles and usually paired with a blouse and petticoat.

Lehengas are full-length skirts, usually paired with a crop top or choli. Both sarees and lehengas come in bright colors and intricate designs which make them perfect for these types of occasions.

For men, the traditional option would be kurta pajama or dhoti kurta. The kurta pajama is a long shirt paired with fitted trousers while dhoti kurta is a long shirt worn over loose fitting trousers called dhotis. Men can also add on a waistcoat or jacket if they want to dress up their look more but it’s not mandatory.

In addition to traditional attire, modern outfits like palazzo pants, jumpsuits and even cocktail dresses can also be worn to Indian destination weddings depending on the occasion and theme of the event. For example, if it’s an outdoor wedding in the daytime then you could go for something more casual like palazzo pants paired with a crop top or jumpsuit with embellishments. If the event is in the evening then you could opt for something more formal like an Anarkali suit or cocktail dress with bold accessories such as earrings and bangles.

No matter what you choose to wear, make sure that it’s comfortable as well as stylish so that you can enjoy yourself without having to worry about your outfit all night long!
