Have you ever watched the thrilling TV series, Doctor Who? If so, you might have come across the episode titled The Impossible Astronaut.

In this episode, the Doctor and his companions visit a strange resort in America, which raises many questions among the viewers. What was this resort all about? Let’s find out!

The resort featured in The Impossible Astronaut is called Lake Silencio. It is located in Utah and is known for its picturesque views and serene atmosphere. However, there’s more to this resort than meets the eye.

Lake Silencio was actually a secret military base where the United States government conducted experiments on time travel. The government used a time machine known as the “Eye Patch Lady’s Time Machine” to conduct these experiments. However, their experiments went wrong, and they accidentally created a fixed point in time – an event that cannot be changed or altered in any way.

This fixed point was the death of the Doctor. The government planned to lure him to Lake Silencio on April 22nd, 2011, where they would shoot him down by a lake at 5:02 pm sharp. This event was witnessed by all of his companions but kept a secret from everyone else.

The Doctor’s death at Lake Silencio was later revealed to be part of an elaborate plan to save the universe from destruction. It was orchestrated by his future self who had foreseen an invasion by an alien race called the Silence.

In conclusion, Lake Silencio portrayed as a peaceful resort in The Impossible Astronaut turned out to be a secret military base where time travel experiments were conducted by the United States government. It played a crucial role in one of Doctor Who’s most dramatic story arcs – proving once again that things are never what they seem in this sci-fi series!
