The Cruise Ship Artania is a cruise ship that has been built and owned by the P&O Cruises since 2004. It has been in operation since then and has been an important part of their fleet. The ship had its last voyage in May 2020, after which it was retired from service.

The Artania was constructed at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany, where it was launched in 2004. It was originally named the ‘Pacific Princess’, but was subsequently renamed to the ‘Artania’ in 2006.

The vessel is a medium-sized cruise ship with a length of over 860 feet and a tonnage of around 74,000 tons. It has a capacity for up to 1,500 passengers and 500 crew members.

The Artania offered passengers a wide array of amenities, including several restaurants, bars, lounges, spas, pools and other recreational activities. There were also several shops on board where passengers could purchase souvenirs or gifts for friends and family back home. The ship also featured multiple cabins with various levels of luxuries depending on the type chosen by passengers.

The Artania’s final voyage began on April 24th 2020 when it set sail from Hamburg, Germany on a world cruise that would take it across Europe and into the Mediterranean Sea before heading down to Africa and then back north again to Europe before eventually arriving back at its home port in Hamburg on May 10th 2020. During this time, the Artania visited several different ports including Barcelona, Spain; Lisbon Portugal; Tenerife Canary Islands; Funchal Madeira; Casablanca Morocco; Cape Town South Africa; Durban South Africa; Mauritius Island; Fremantle Australia; Sydney Australia; Auckland New Zealand; Papeete Tahiti; San Diego USA and Houston USA before finally returning to its home port in Hamburg on May 10th 2020.

After completing its world cruise, the Artania had officially come to an end as it was retired from service by P&O Cruises due to age-related reasons as well as economic realities caused by the COVID-19 pandemic which had severely impacted cruising across all major cruise lines throughout 2020. Since then, the vessel has remained docked at its current location in Bremerhaven Germany since June 2020 where it is currently awaiting sale or further disposition plans by its owners P&O Cruises.
