Where Is the Cruise Ship Port in Antigua?

By Alice Nichols

Antigua is a Caribbean island located in the Leeward Islands, part of the chain of islands called the Lesser Antilles. It’s a popular destination for cruise ships, as it is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Cruise ships often stop at several of Antigua’s ports, giving passengers the opportunity to take in its stunning scenery and vibrant culture.

The main port for cruise ships visiting Antigua is Heritage Quay. Located in St. John’s, Heritage Quay is a modern facility that can accommodate up to five cruise ships at once and provides easy access to local attractions. The port offers duty-free shopping and plenty of restaurants, bars and boutiques for passengers to enjoy while they wait for their ship to depart.

Cruise ships also stop at Soper’s Hole Marina, located on Tortola in British Virgin Islands. This marina provides access to nearby islands such as St. Martin and St. Kitts and Nevis, as well as the US Virgin Islands. It also offers duty-free shopping and other amenities such as restaurants, bars, boutiques and more.

In addition to these two ports, some smaller cruise lines may also choose to dock at St John’s Deep Water Harbour or Frye’s Village Marina in Barbuda. Both are smaller ports but still offer access to local attractions as well as duty-free shopping.
