Where Is the Cruise Ship Silhouette?

By Alice Nichols

This is a question that has been on the minds of many travelers over the years.

The Silhouette was once a part of the Celebrity Cruise Line, but has since been sold to another cruise line and renamed. Despite being out of service for several years, many people still fondly remember the ship and wonder where it is now.

The Silhouette was originally built in 1995 for Celebrity Cruises and was part of their fleet for over 15 years. It had an impressive length of 965 feet and could accommodate up to 2,850 passengers.

During its time with Celebrity Cruises, it was used on a number of different routes and visited multiple destinations around the world.

In 2011, Celebrity Cruises decided to sell off the Silhouette as part of their “fleet renewal program” and it was purchased by Pullmantur Cruises. While it retained its original name, its route was changed to focus more on Caribbean destinations such as Barbados, St. Lucia and Jamaica.

In 2015, Pullmantur Cruises decided to rename the Silhouette to Zenith in order to give its fleet a more unified look. It also underwent some refurbishments which included new carpets and furniture in some areas as well as upgraded cabins. In addition to its Caribbean destinations, Zenith has also been used for cruises around Europe.

Today, Zenith continues to sail around various destinations throughout Europe and the Caribbean as part of Pullmantur’s fleet. While some may still remember it fondly by its original name, there is no doubt that this former Celebrity Cruise Line vessel has found a new home with Pullmantur Cruises.
