Where Is the Dawn Princess Cruise Ship Now?

By Alice Nichols

The Dawn Princess Cruise Ship, which operated for P&O Cruises in Australia from 1997 to 2020, has been retired from the fleet. The vessel was sold to the international cruise line CMV (Cruise and Maritime Voyages) and it has been renamed the Magellan.

The Dawn Princess was a mid-sized cruise ship with a length of 856 feet, a width of 105 feet, and a weight of 77,000 tons. It had 1,250 staterooms for up to 2,500 passengers and 900 crew members. The ship sailed many different routes around Australia’s coastline as well as New Zealand and South Pacific Islands.

The Dawn Princess had some unique features that made it stand out among other P&O vessels. Its design was heavily focused on outdoor spaces such as balconies and deck areas that allowed passengers to enjoy the ocean breeze while admiring the scenery. It also had two swimming pools, two hot tubs, five restaurants, and 11 bars.

The ship was also equipped with modern amenities such as Wi-Fi access, satellite television service, an Internet café with computers for passenger use and a casino where guests could enjoy their favorite games while they were at sea.

When P&O Cruises decided to retire the Dawn Princess in 2020 due to the economic effects of COVID-19 on the cruise industry, CMV purchased it at auction in April 2021. The Magellan is now cruising around Europe with CMV offering passengers an unforgettable holiday experience.

Conclusion:

The Dawn Princess Cruise Ship has now been sold to CMV (Cruise and Maritime Voyages) and renamed the Magellan. It is currently cruising around Europe providing an unforgettable holiday experience for its passengers.
