Where Is the Horizon Cruise Ship?

By Anna Duncan

The Horizon cruise ship has been missing for some time now, and the mystery of its disappearance has yet to be solved. It was last seen off the coast of Florida in May of 2020 and since then, there has been no trace of it or any of its crew or passengers. The US Coast Guard has been searching for the vessel since then with no luck and the search is still ongoing.

The Horizon cruise ship was a large passenger vessel that could carry up to 1,000 passengers and had a crew of about 400 people. It was owned by Carnival Cruise Lines and had been in service since 2005. Its last voyage before it went missing was a three-week tour that started in Miami and ended in Tampa Bay with stops in Key West, Cozumel, Jamaica, and The Bahamas.

Since the Horizon’s disappearance, many theories have arisen as to what happened to it. Some believe that it encountered mechanical problems or encountered rough seas.

Others think that pirates might have hijacked it or that a storm caused it to sink without a trace. However, none of these theories have been proven yet as no wreckage has been found despite extensive searches by both the US Coast Guard and private companies hired by Carnival Cruise Lines.

The US Coast Guard is continuing its search for the Horizon but also remains realistic about its chances of finding anything substantial related to its disappearance. With every day that passes without any sign of the vessel or its passengers, hope dwindles further for their families who are desperately waiting for news about their loved ones’ fate.

In conclusion, the whereabouts of the Horizon cruise ship remain unknown despite an extensive search effort by both private companies and the US Coast Guard over a year after its disappearance off the coast of Florida in May 2020. The families of those on board are still desperately waiting for news about their loved ones’ fate as hope dwindles further each day without any sign of either vessel or passengers being found thus far.
