Where Is the Monarch Cruise Ship Now?

By Alice Nichols

The Monarch Cruise Ship was once a floating city of luxury and adventure. Launched in 2002, the Monarch offered guests some of the finest amenities and services available on any cruise ship in the world. From its opulent suites to its world-class restaurants, the Monarch had something for everyone.

Unfortunately, the Monarch was short-lived due to a series of unfortunate events. In 2004, the ship suffered major damage from a fire that broke out onboard while docked in Miami. This forced the cruise line to cancel all future voyages and lay off much of its staff.

The cruise line then filed for bankruptcy protection in 2006 and sold off most of its assets, including the Monarch Cruise Ship. The ship was bought by a private company from Singapore who renamed it “Majestic Princess” and refitted it for use as a floating casino.

Since then, it has been used primarily for gambling cruises throughout Asia and Australasia but is also available for private charters around the world. The Majestic Princess is currently docked in Singapore where it serves as one of the largest casinos at sea with over 500 gaming tables and 2,000 slot machines spread out over four decks.

The ship’s luxurious décor remains largely unchanged since its days as the Monarch Cruise Ship, with opulent suites and fine dining restaurants still on board. The Majestic Princess offers guests an exciting experience with all sorts of entertainment options to choose from including live music, comedy shows, karaoke nights, and more.

Where Is The Monarch Cruise Ship Now? The former Monarch Cruise Ship is now known as “Majestic Princess” and is currently docked in Singapore serving as one of Asia’s largest casinos at sea. It still offers guests an unforgettable experience with all sorts of entertainment options aboard its luxurious decks.
